Updates on Development

Well this past week, Noah's 6th tooth poked through. The top right. He still just has two on the bottom and four on the top now. Last night we had the Searbys, Whitlocks and Williams over for games and dinner. While Matt and I were both looking at Noah he took his first step! He just took one and it was a pivot step. Matt said it was a "perfect Basketball move." So hopefully he will be working on walking for this weekend!

Also, sometime this past week, Noah began to point at things. The first thing he pointed at was his milk!

Clearwater Beach

Saturday, April 28th, the three of us, with Joel and Jen Searby, went to Tampa to check out the building and grounds of the church plant that is to be a mission trip for our church. Since we were so close to the Gulf, we (Jen and I) decided that we should go on over to the beach. Noah was a little bit scared at first, but seemed to enjoy it once he got used to it.

Almost One!

Well it has been over a month since I posted to update everyone on the happenings in Noah's life. His first birthday is bearing down on us quickly! He is now getting close to walking and I think he will be walking by his birthday. He has five teeth through and another couple on the way. We have sent out the invitations to Noah's 1st birthday and my graduation party. We cannot wait to see every one then-the more the merrier! Matt and I are both busy finishing up the semester. We weighed Noah at Publix the other day and he weighed 20.5lbs! One of his favorite pastimes remains opening and closing doors. He is beginning to use sign language to communicate and it is so neat! He knows the sign for milk and we are working on more please, drink, food, daddy, and potty. He also will wave hello and goodbye and loves to clap. We are trying to discontinue the use of baby food altogether, but it has proven as more of a challenge than we had thought. For anyone who has not heard yet, we are moving to Iowa at the end of June. We are excited for the new doors God is opening to us and cannot wait to see what he has in store. We are also sad to be leaving our family and friends down here. We haven't started packing yet, but plan on working on that this weekend. Hope everyone is well and we will hopefully keep this updated better in the future!

Black and Blue

Well the last couple weeks have been rough on Noah... or Noah has been rough on them!

He got his first rug-burn crawling in his carseat upside-down. When it flipped over, his nose skidded across the carpet and created exhibit A. On Saturday night (March 3rd), Noah was pulling up on the entertainment stand and slipped only to catch himself on the way down on his cheek bone, just under his left eye. Finally today, Noah pinched his hand in the bifold closet doors to create what we have here in exhibit B.

One cool thing for Noah this week is that his 3rd tooth poked through on his upper jaw, right-hand side. Looks like it is the tooth next to his front tooth...All Noah wants for his birthday is his two front teeth!

A Well Oiled Machine

Today Noah went in for his nine month check up. He received his third Hep B vaccine, had a hemoglobin check, and weighed in at 18lbs, 26 3/4 inches. Dr. Beebe told me he was doing great and keep up the good work.

Noah is beginning to stand freely more and more. This evening Matt saw him let go of the chair and pivot to the deep freeze in the kitchen.

Also Noah has begun making what I believe to be monkey face #1. For those who do not know, My "gaganny" (Noah's great granddaddy Hughlett) used to have me make monkey face #1 and monkey face #2. I sure do wish he would have been here to meet Noah and see his monkey face!

Detective mommy?

Well I took Noah to the doctor again today. It seems these visits are becoming weekly, not because I have some over active need to take my kid in and be told everything is fine, but because I know there is something wrong before the doctors can even detect it. This past friday Noah was diagnosed over the phone with pink eye. Since I took him in today, the ARNP thinks he probably didn't have a classic pink eye, but rather an infection in the whole right side of his face. He is developing an ear infection in the left ear also, with the right ear already there. The good news is that we do not have to pry Noah's eys open to put drops in his eyes anymore. He is on Omnicef that will cover anything that is going on.

On a lighter note Noah is beginning to stand up without holding on!!!! Yesterday, Matt was standing with him and let go expecting him to sit down, but he stood there for 5secs or so. How exciting!!! Also, his second bottom tooth broke through last Monday (Jan 29th). Well I guess that is all for now...Wish Noah a happy 9 months birthday tomorrow!

Well through many sleepless nights, (Not due to the photo contest, but due to an irritable, teething baby) it has been decided. C will be the picture we will send on to Regis and Kelly. A was the close second, and although maybe the best photograph, not the best representation of Noah's beauty. Maybe we will enter it into a photo contest at the state fair...

I Spy Something White!!!

Well I think it is finally here...What you ask? Noah's first tooth. While I was feeding him his dinner- sweet potatoes and then peaches- I saw something that remarkably resembles a tooth. He has been letting us know that one was on its way for awhile with his cantankerous attitude and random screaming fits. But at last, it is here!!!

Noah goes to the Doctor

Well actually Noah goes to the doctor, again. I took him last friday, but they said nothing was wrong despite his fussiness, need to be held, and slight cough. Today was a different story. He had the same symptoms only worse: the cough was deeper and we also added a runny nose in the mix. The doctor said he has a left ear infection...His first one ever! Poor little fella. How can you blame his all of the sudden need for mommy's every waking moment. When my ear hurts, I feel like crawling into my mommy's lap too!!

Christmas

Well we had a lot of fun this year at Christmas...
We spent Christmas Eve with Baga (Mommy's mom), Baga Sue (Mommy's Gramma), Auntie Amy, Aunt Barby, and my cousin Brilei. Baga Sue and Barby helped start a trust fund for me. Auntie Amy and Brilei gave me Little Leaps the Leap Frog educational video system for babies. Baga gave me a book that came with hand puppets and an activity box which has five sides of fun. On Christmas, Daddy had to work so Mommy, Baga, and I went to Brilei's house to watch her open her Christmas gifts that morning. After that we hung out at Baga's house and Shay Lynn, Mommy's BF's little girl, came over to see us. The day after Christmas we went over to see Papa Ted and Deborah. The next morning we flew out of Tampa and into Des Moines. Grampa and Gramma, and Uncle James and Nicole came to pick us up. On the way from the airport, we went by Pickett Fence Dairy to see Uncle Dan and stopped in Ames to see Aunt Lynn. When we arrived in Clarksville we were soon met by both sets of Great-grandparents. The next day Lynn and Dan came to Clarksville and we had Christmas with the immediate family. On the 29th we went to have Christmas at the Jensens and New Years day we had Bolin Christmas. On the 30th, we went over to the Clark's and the Kampmans came by too. On the 31st we went to the Kampman's for dinner and then to Jensen's to ring in the new year.
We had so much fun visiting with everyone and cannot wait to get to do it again!!!

Santa

Daddy Matt and I took Noah to the mall to have his first encounter with Santa Clause. It was fun and I will have a picture or two to post at a later date!!! Pulling up, crawling, sitting up!

With in the last week Noah has made some huge developmental changes. He starting pulling himself up to standing when he is in his crib. This forced us to have to lower the crib mattress. He also began crawling, and do I ever mean crawling...He is into everything now: the Christmas tree, the dog's crate, electrical cords (those are his favorite!), books, and shoes (another favorite, but more easily moved out of reach!). Noah has also come to love his baby Beethoven by baby Einstein. I can now tell you what is on the screen when certain parts of Beethoven's 1,2,4, and various incidental pieces are on the screen...This means that I am either watching Noah watch this too much, or I am having Noah watch it too much...I haven't figured out which is true yet, but I know this is a way to occupy him for at least 20 mins. I put him in the jumperoo and he is contained and content. I said I wanted him to be crawling by Christmas and they always say be careful of what you ask for...I guess I should heed this advice more often. The final step was getting himself from the crawling position to sitting...He has been working on this for awhile and finally got it last night. He now very patiently walks his hand back until he can muscle the sitting position.

Noah 7mo. on the 7th of Dec.

Well today marks the 7th months Noah has been in our lives (outside of the womb that is). Yesterday, while I was on the phone to UF, he pushed himself from sitting to standing on the arm of the chair I had him sitting in! I was WOWed! He is still trying to get the hang of crawling, but does do a fabulous job of moving anyway. Forward, back, and round in circles have all been mastered. The last to come is the syncrinization of the arms and legs. He has also mastered the "mamama's" in his daily chatter. We have started baby sign following ASL. Noah really seems to be soaking it up! It may seem hoaky to those of you who haven't seen the results (as it did to me), but believe me it save much frustration for you and the baby. My niece Brilei used sign language and it was so nice to know when she was hungry, thirsty, finnished or wanted more. Well that is all for now. I still have yet to upload the pictures to the previous posts, but have not forgotten that I have not...until then...
