Budget Friendly Ideas

Making a list of things we have found to be FUN and FREE (or at least cheap!). I will be updating t as we come across new things to do. Here are some creative ways we have been having some fun, while saving money:
Parks:
  1. Devil's Millhopper- $4 per vehicle
  2. Possum Creek at Hogtown Watershed- FREE- fun to play in the cool water, in the shade and dig for sharks teeth...in the middle of Gainesville
Free Kids Events around town:
  1. Movie nights at the bank and Town of Tioga Amphitheater
  2. Museum of Natural History- Free kids exhibits everyday
  3. Library- besides story time, many libraries have events geared towards kids for FREE
  4. Free Movies at Gator Cinemas
  5. Play at toys-r-us without buying anything- they have train table and the kids can "play" with all the toys in the boxes. My kids had a blast and we just picked up the aisles as we moved to the next
Cheap Kid events around town:
  1. $1 movies at Regal Theater
Food- This one was more of a challenge. I love to eat out as much as the next person...but when it was time to cut the budget, this area had to go. So, the way I get the enjoyment out of this is making restaurant favorites for pennies on the dollar of what I would have spent. Pinterest has been the best place for this, and although I seldom follow recipes exactly that I find, I adapt them to make the easier using my Pampered Chef products so that they are prepared more quickly! A few of the items I have made are:
  1. Zuppa Tuscana copycat from Olive Garden
  2. Chicken Nuggets copycat from Chick-fil-a
  3. Salsa copycat from Chili's
